David Dellin
Three time AQHA World Pleasure Champion

Dave Dellin was born in Owasso Oklahoma. He started working for pleasure horse trainer, Jess Herd, at age 13. He continued to work for Jess after school and on school vacations throughout his sophomore year in college. Upon graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Animal Science and a minor in Agricultural Economics, he went to work full time for Gil Galyean. While working for Gil he was able to train and show many great horses including One Hot Krymsun. Dave was NSBA Limited Rider of the Year in 2001 as well as winning an AQHA World Championship in 2 year old Western pleasure riding One Hot Krymsun. The following year they won the Congress in the 3 year old Open Derby, as well as another AQHA World Championship in Jr. Western Pleasure.

Upon leaving Gil Galyean's, Dave became the head trainer at Northwind Ranch in Pilot Point Texas. While at Northwind Dave trained and coached the 2004 AQHA Youth World Champion Western Pleasure horse and rider, Blair Kern and Impulsive Lite. In 2005 he rode One Hot Krymsun to another Congress win in the Open Western Pleasure Maturity as well as an AQHA World Championship in Sr. Western Pleasure.

In December of 2005 Dave and his wife Julie, and son Gage started their own training operation, Dellin Quarter Horses, and reside in Sanger, Texas. The Dellin's involvement in the UK has developed over the last three years since meeting with John and Lou who were so impressed with his training of their European Champion stud Zip Chip Leaguer - aka - Studley - that they invited him to make a UK clinic tour last year.

The relationship between these two families is strong and active with David now training all of John and Lou's pleasure horses in the USA and John marketing David merchandise on an exclusive basis in Europe. David has continued to develop his UK involvement by helping Lee Rutter expand his knowledge and skills whilst working with David for a month in the latter stages of last year and by other UK owners placing their US based horses into the care of David and Julie in Sanger.

Plans are in progress for the 2008 tour to the UK and Europe.
