Numero uno blog.

Welcome to the Mendip Stud Blog.

We thought we'd use this method of keeping you in the loop as to what is going on here at the Farm on a regular basis.

Today has been really strange as our thoughts are with Dave Hambidge, better known to most of you as the guy who grades the arena. Dave is undergoing heart surgery today having suffered heart attacks three weeks ago and has been hospitalised since. Our thoughts are with him, his family and girlfriend. We'll let you know how he is doing tomorrow.

Lucinda McAlpine visited last night to continue to promote her tour - 'Riding the Recession' - 'we are all looking forward to Sunday at the Avon Equestrian centre for the second of the road shows. Well worth popping in if you are in the area. Great ideas to save the pounds and pennies in these difficult times.

Babies are doing fine - we have three on the floor - Venus, Boris and now Maria - a long legged filly named after Maria Shriver ! (This year our babies are being given yard names of Wimbledon champions.) Rona is still hanging on - she's as big as a bus and looks ready to pop and Bridie and Issy are just enjoying the pampering the soon-to-be mums get here.

Lisa's BR clinic on the weekend seemed to be a real success - lots of great comments from all those who attended.

Lou's been out and about with Robert Fowler introducing fibre feed to new customers.

Please let us know any news we can add to the blog - make it somewhere to visit every day to keep up with the news and views.

Though for the day: "Don't join dangerous cults: Practice safe sects! "

I'm looking forward to meeting Bjorn when he's bjorn, and a little anxious if one has the personality to be called John McEnroe!!

Maybe the 2005babies should have been named after nursery rhymes.
I have a little girl, with a little curl right to the end of her bonnet.
And when she's very good, she's very, very good, and when she is not she's a little b***ard!!

Serves me right for giving her 7 months off, methinks!!
Currently figures she's a racehorse, flaring nostrils and score's Pegs 10, me 2......day 3 and counting!!
